De route loopt over de vroegere trambaan, nu een boerenlandpad langs het gerestaureerde wachthuisje. Hier tufte tussen 1912-1935 de stoomtram Schagen-Van Ewijcksluis. Je gaat verder over de schapenrijke grasdijk van het vooroorlogse Kanaal Schagen-Kolhorn richting station Schagen.
De route is in twee richtingen gemarkeerd met paarse pijlen.
