The Dijk- & Doolhofroute (purple) is a diversion through Oud-Volendam. The route runs over and behind the old Zuiderzeedijk, along streets with meaningful names like Aalstraat and Pellersplein and through Het Doolhof: a fishermen's quarter with a maze of little streets and green, partly wooden houses. You walk back via Noordeinde and the Harbour.
The route is marked in two directions with purple arrows.
