The Boerderijwandeling or Farm Walk (orange) in Amstelveen connects the two farms in the Amsterdamse Bos park: the old Meerzicht farm and the new Ridammerhoeve farm. Meerzicht is located on the edge of the Nieuwe Meer lake and was a tearoom as early as 1857. The edge of the forest along the ring canal of the Haarlemmermeer is a wind buffer that protects the forest from storm winds coming from the open area of Schiphol Airport. The walk continues along the hidden Vogeleiland (Bird Island). Please note that dogs are not allowed here. This botanical park was built as early as 1940 and is a paradise for lovers of native flora and insects.
