Koedijk was originally a ribbon village along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal (Great North Holland Canal). This is the starting point of four walks.
- The Oosterdijk Route (green) runs on both sides of the Noordhollandsch Kanaal. In the 19th century, King William I had it dug to promote trade and industry. Halfway along, the route crosses the canal via the Koedijker Vlotbrug: an unusual wooden bridge dating from 1821. At 37 metres, the canal was too wide for an ordinary drawbridge. Dogs are prohibited.
- The Koedijk Route (blue) initially runs alongside part of the Oosterdijk Route. The Molen De Gouden Engel windmill is one of the interesting sites along the Noordhollandsch Kanaal. You can buy flour in the mill shop and enjoy a drink in the Molenschuur next door.
- The Kleimeer Route (purple) runs along the edges of the Kleimeer Nature Reserve, which is a protected area with reed wetland, shrubs and meadows. You will also walk along recreational lake the Zomerdel for a bit.
- The Saskervaart Route (yellow) also takes you along Kleimeer Nature Reserve and then bends to the west. You walk through open grassland along the Saskervaart canal and along a grass quay past the old buildings of Koedijk.
